The database for systematically organizing and storing all of the clues to your ancestry that you have discovered over the years.

Clooz is NOT just another genealogy program. It is an electronic filing cabinet that assists you with search and retrieval of important facts that you have found during the ancestor hunt.

The BEAUTY of Clooz is that your filing system is no longer constrained by old filing rules. Clooz facilitates filing your papers sequentially as you add a given document, etc., to the Clooz database. In other words, use the power of your computer to tell you exactly where to find any document that you have entered into Clooz.

The Clooz filing system is based on the EVENTS that you analyze and record in the program, rather than on each individual. For example, the simple Clooz filing system for census data makes filing the copies one after the other, regardless of country, year, family, etc., a breeze. Clooz then tells you exactly where that particular event is filed in your sequential system.

This concept is the most difficult feature of Clooz for new users to grasp, because it differs from our normal inclination to file all documents about our grandfather, for example, together under his name. But such a system, if followed to its natural outcome, would require filing copies of documents in each referenced person's file. Clooz eliminates all of these problems. We recommend strongly that Liz's advice be taken to heart, and that you establish your simplified filing system before starting to enter data.

We also suggest that you listen to the audio that was produced after Clooz 2.0 was released, in which Liz's enthusiasm is shared with the noted genealogist Dick Eastman, who publishes very valuable newsletters concerning our hobby. This playback may not work if your computer has pop-ups blocked.
