Features

Clooz is NOT just another genealogy program. It is THE database for systematically organizing and storing the clues to your ancestry discovered through years of research. Clooz functions as a sophisticated research assistance tool and electronic filing cabinet. Clooz enhances your research with search and retrieval of important facts that you find during the hunt for your ancestors. Clooz interfaces with certain established family tree programs, depending on the producers allowing us access to your data stored in their program.

One unique aspect of Clooz is that your research information is no longer constrained by old rules. Clooz facilitates processing your data sequentially as you work with a given piece of information for your Clooz database. In other words, you no longer need to worry about arranging all of your research in some organized manner before processing it. Work on any piece of information and let Clooz use the POWER of your computer to tell you exactly what it contains, and where to find any document that you have entered into Clooz.

The Clooz research support function is based on the DOCUMENTS that you analyze and record in the program, rather than on each individual ancestor. For example, the Clooz analysis and processing system promotes filing the pieces of information one after the other as you find and work on them, regardless of type, country, year, family, etc. You can enter ANY piece of information in ANY order. Clooz then tells you exactly where to find that particular event in your system. Do you have a supporting image or a textual file for that information? Simply drag and drop the link from your stored data or any internet source, or paste the link in the record, whichever method is easier. Does that piece of information come with existing source information? Just capture that source information immediately with an automated tie-in to the sourced record.

The Clooz concept is sometimes difficult for new users to grasp, because it differs from our normal inclination to first organize information in some order before entering it into a database. This is not necessary with Clooz. The outdated "individual-centric" method would require filing copies of documents, such as a census record for a family, in each referenced person's file. Since the program seamlessly links any piece of information to every associated ancestor, your genealogy research assistant Clooz eliminates all of these problems.

This page contains a listing of the various data entry templates that are available in Clooz 3.1.
